Boomerang wakes up from yet another nightmare about her mother's tragic death and starts crying. Too many things are adding up, her mother's death, no food, no shelter, no one to turn to. She can't put off her hunger much longer but doesn't know where or how to get food.

Marina ran, the trees blurring as they past. She finally found a pineapple tree! Marina ate some pineapple. She was different. She didn't eat meat as often, though sometimes she slipped.

Carnival jumped froom tree to tree. She spotted Boomerang and hopped down to the little monkey. "Hi. I am Carnival. Why are you crying?" Carnival asked in suspicion.

" I want my mommy!" More sobs. " I'm hungry!" keeps crying.

Okiana trotted through the trees.She saw saw nice leaves,so using her long tongue ate them.After she finished she started walking.

" What is that noise? Something's coming!" came with more sobs, this time because she was scared. She was asking Carnival who she decided she could trust.

"It's ok. Nothin is going to happen to you. Come with me." Carnival said and jumped across a tree, waiting for Boomerang.

Aimee jumped onto the branch they were perched on. "Hello!" Her accent sounded french.

Carnival saw Boomerang stiffen and yelp. "It's ok. She won't hurt you." Carnival soothed.

" I'm not very good in the trees yet, but I want to be! Where are you from?" Boomerang wasn't very good at recognizing accents yet.

"Hawaii." Carnival said with ease. he'd been asked this question before. "My old owner used get money for my tricks. On our way to another place, from my home, Hawaii, I escaped and found here." He said with a shrug. Marina walked under the trees and growled at Boomerang. She meant it as a hello, but she immediately saw that wasn't the case.

" Is that a TIGER?!? I don't like tigers they killed my mommy!"

Aimee bounces over to Carnival. "Bonjour! Parlez-vous français?" She babels easily.

"No, she doesn't." Carnival replied to Aimee question... "And, Marina is very nice, don't worry about her!" Carnival said.

"What'd she say? I got confused! I want to understand though!"

"She asked if you spoke French." Carnival replied. "Don't fret!" Carnival said.

"French sounds fun!" Why aren't you scared of Marina?"

"Marina is kind!" Carnival announced. Marina swished her tail. "And sure, French is fun, I suppose" Carnival said.

"C-Can I pet her?"

"Sure" Carnival said. he pet Marina to show Boomerang how to do it. "Marina, it's ok. Don't flip. Stay calm." Carnival told Marina. Marina pranced around in a circle before stopping in front of Boomerang. She leaned gently towards Boomerang and let her tongue hang out.

"She's like a giant dog!" squealed Boomerang! " I love her!"

"yes, she is!" Carnival said, glad Boomerang like Marina. Marina smiled.

"Can I ride her? I want to explore the forest and see who else is out there!"

"ummm, that might not be such a good idea. You see, not everyone is as kind as Marina." Carnival replied.

"Why not? I think they should be!" Boomerang said matter of factly
